ANTH 324 - Archaeology and the Bible Unit(s): 4 An exploration of the archaeology and history the ancient Near East, from the earliest human settlements through the Persian empire (ca. 10,500-332 BCE). Societies described in the Hebrew Bible are emphasized, with topics ranging from the rise of the state and international trade, to the identities and everyday lives of men, women, and children. The history and socio-political impacts of “Biblical Archaeology” are also examined.
Prerequisite(s): upper-division standing or consent of instructor.
