ASTR 303 - Life in the Universe Unit(s): 3 Lecture: 3 hours An appraisal of possibilities and prospects for life in the Universe. Topics covered: nature of life, habitability of Earth and other Solar System worlds, detection of exoplanets, the search for life beyond Earth, space travel. Emphasis on the scientific method, especially the development of theories founded in observations and evidence.
Prerequisite(s): Completion of GE Golden Four (A1, A2, A3, B4) with a C- or better and completion of B1, B2 and at least 45 units. GE Category: Upper Division B Typically Offered Fall & Spring May Be Repeated No Teaching Mode: Face-to-Face Grading: Student Option
