ARTH 432 - Medieval Art: Post-Millennial Issues

This course tackles critical issues in art history post the medieval millennium and our own. We consider epistemological and social categories both at their historical moment and from our own contemporary vantage point. Topics may include Gothic churches and chapels, the amorphous boundaries of race and social classification, materiality, gender, and sexuality.
