POLS 307 - Perspectives on the Holocaust and Genocide Unit(s): 3 This course is a weekly lecture series on the Holocaust and other selected genocides and human rights issues. Guest lecturers and SSU faculty provide a variety of political and interdisciplinary perspectives on the topics. The course explores the intellectual, emotional, and ethical aspects of the Holocaust and genocides and seeks to deepen students’ understanding of organized society, political leadership, democratic participation and human nature. Students also attend a weekly discussion group to explore and synthesize information presented in the weekly lectures.
Prerequisite(s): Completion of GE Golden Four (1A, 1B, 1C, 2) with a C- or better and completion of lower division 4 coursework and at least 45 units. Crosslisted: HIST 307 GE Category: Upper Division 4 Typically Offered Spring Only Teaching Mode: Face-to-Face, Hybrid & Online Grading: Graded
