ANTH 354 - Quest for the Other: Tourism and Culture Unit(s): 4 Examines the nature of tourism as a social and economic force. Different forms of tourism (eco, ethnic, heritage, mass, elite, etc.) are assessed both in terms of impacts on host cultures and their environments as well as tourists themselves. Case studies illustrate the positive and negative impacts of tourism as an agent of culture change. Prerequisite: upper-division standing or consent of instructor. Variable Intermittently
