BUS 455 - Alternative Dispute Resolution

This course will provide students with an understanding of the alternatives to litigation as a means of dispute resolution. The primary focus will be on two alternatives, mediation and arbitration. The first half of the course will focus on the mediation process and the basic problem solving skills that are a fundamental component of successful mediation. The second half of the course will emphasize the types of voluntary arbitration and the means to implement the process.
