MATH 306 - Number Theory Unit(s): 4 Topics include mathematical induction, Euclidean algorithm, congruences, primes, fundamental theorem of arithmetic, Fermat’s little theorem, Euler’s theorem, primitive roots, quadratic reciprocity, and polynomials over the real numbers. Additional topics may include Pythagorean triples, the Goldbach conjecture, perfect numbers, amicable numbers, Chinese remainder theorem, Fibonacci numbers, cryptography, prime number theorem, Möbius inversion. Repeatable for credit.
