NAMS 338 - Native Americans and The Cinema Unit(s): 4 This course examines and critiques the depiction of American Indians in American cinema, including Hollywood movies, independent films, and documentaries. These works are analyzed through an exploration of the social construction of stereotypes, film theory, and historical and cultural contexts. Films by American Indians and non-Indians will be examined and analyzed. Satisfies GE Area C1 and the Ethnic Studies requirement.
