SOCI 382 - Social Movements and Collective Behavior Unit(s): 4 Social movements are a significant source of social change in modern societies. This course analyses the structure and dynamics of social movements, with attention to the roles of organizations, resources, leadership, recruitment, commitment, values, ideology, political culture, and countermovements. Case studies will emphasize the civil rights, women’s rights, and environmental movements in the United States.
