Topics may include Jewish, Christian, and Muslim traditions in the Mediterranean and environs, Byzantium, iconoclasm, Viking culture and explorations, the Carolingian Renaissance, monastic practice. Emphasis on how art, religion, politics, and other aspects of culture were transmitted and shared. Content emphasis may vary.
