ARTH 464 - Avant-Gardes of the Early 20th Century Unit(s): 3-4 This course explores topics in the history of art from approximately 1900-1945: Examines avant-garde movements such as Fauvism, Cubism, Expressionism, Primitivism, Constructivism, Dada and Surrealism with relation to the cultural upheavals of the early 20th Century including industrialization, revolution, WWI, shifts in gender roles and the rise of fascism.
