BIOL 240 - General Microbiology Unit(s): 4 Lecture: 3 hours Laboratory: 3 hours Fundamental concepts and general principles of cell structure and function; classification and diversity of microorganisms; biochemical processes; genetic basis of microbial growth and evolution; immunology, and the interactions between microbes and the human host will be emphasized. Designed for those pursuing careers in the allied health professions.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 110 or BIOL 115 or BIOL 130 and BIOL 131, and CHEM 115A/CHEM 115B or CHEM 105. Typically Offered Spring Only Grading: OPT
