The Department of Early Childhood Studies offers a major in Early Childhood Studies, a minor in Early Childhood Studies, a minor in Education, and a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education. Students in these programs may also use some of their coursework to satisfy requirements for the Child Development Permit for teachers of California state-funded preschool and after-school programs. If you are interested in applying for the California Child Development Permit, please consult with the ECS Department Chair or visit our Child Development Permit website.
