German Cultural Studies, Minor

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Programs by Department

The minor in German Cultural Studies offers students an interdisciplinary degree that incorporates two first-year German language courses, two GE courses in German film and literature (taught in English), and one upper-division course from another discipline. This minor enriches students' academic and career opportunities by providing students with important skills to find employment in our increasingly interconnected world. It helps prepare students for international or cross-cultural careers in the USA or abroad that require a basic knowledge of the German language, history, and culture as well as skills in cross-cultural communication. Recognizing the increasing interconnections in our global world, and Germany as one of the key players within the EU and in the international arena, the German Cultural Studies minor enhances students’ opportunities for graduate school and careers in a field of their interest.
