Return to: Programs by Department
The Entrepreneurship Minor for Non-Business Students is designed for students in any major (other than Business Administration) who wish to develop entrepreneurial skills, either to start their own business and/or to enhance their ability to think innovatively in a current organization. The Minor requires 5 courses and a minimum of 19 units. There are 4 required courses and one elective.
In order to be eligible to take the upper division Business courses, students must have completed BUS 230A (or its equivalent) and must also have completed at least 60 units of college-level coursework. Students who are eligible to take the upper division Business courses will need to submit the Minor Request to Take Upper Division Business form, in order to request a permission number for a particular course. It is recommended that students take the elective (either BUS 386MG or BUS 451) as their last course in the Entrepreneurship Minor. All upper division Business courses must be completed at Sonoma State University. Entrepreneurship Minor students will usually take only one of the above courses per semester. However, students are allowed to take two Business courses in one semester subject to seat availability.
To declare the Entrepreneurship Minor for Non-Business students, a Change of Major/Minor form needs to be submitted. The student must have a minimum GPA of 2.50 in order to apply for the Entrepreneurship Minor. Business Majors are not eligible to declare the Entrepreneurship Minor for Non-Business Students.
