The Sonoma State University Alumni Association fosters engagement with alumni, students, faculty, staff, and the broader community. It offers various programs, networking and special events, contributing to the University through direct donations from the extensive network of its alumni. The Association presents several scholarships, including the Ambrose R. Nichols, Jr. Scholarship, The Heart of SSU Alumni Scholarship, and the Ronald O. Logsdon Jr. Scholarship. Additionally, it hosts the Distinguished Alumni Awards.
Membership in the Alumni Association is open to all Sonoma State University attendees, with recent graduates eligible for a discounted lifetime membership. Membership benefits include access to group medical, dental, and vision insurance, library borrowing privileges at SSU and all 23 CSU campuses, and reduced prices for SSU athletics and performing arts events. Members also enjoy discounts on Extended Education courses, Lifelong Learning and Excel youth programs, receive E-Connection newsletters, special rates at the campus Recreation Center, and select Green Music Center events, as well as access to Career Services, and much more.

The Office of Research & Sponsored Programs (ORSP) is the hub for research, scholarship, and creative activity (RSCA) opportunities at Sonoma State. ORSP provides comprehensive pre- and post-award assistance covering the entire lifecycle of an award, from finding funding and proposal development to award administration and closeout, and is responsible for Sonoma State University’s (SSU) institutional research compliance. ORSP strives to ensure accountability, compliance and good stewardship for sponsored programs, and to positively impact student success and faculty excellence by providing opportunities to explore, investigate and solve the issues facing California’s diverse communities, the nation, and the world through innovative applications of discoveries and the creation of new knowledge.

Sonoma State Enterprises, Inc., is a not-for-profit, auxiliary corporation of Sonoma State University, established to provide services that are not eligible for state funding, but are nonetheless crucial to the life of the campus. Sonoma State Enterprises operates retail and dining functions on the campus. Enterprises’ net proceeds, after establishment of appropriate reserves, are provided to support the University. The corporation is governed by a policy-making board of directors comprised of faculty, staff, students, administrators, and community members.

The Sonoma State University Foundation is a nonprofit organization that plays an essential role in sustaining and enhancing the excellence of Sonoma State University through the raising and management of philanthropic support on behalf of the University, stewarding private donations to the University, and managing the University’s endowment. It is governed by a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors.
