POLS 453 - Politics of Latin America

A comparative analysis of the political development of Latin America and the Caribbean (LA/C). Following a look at the legacy of colonialism in LA/C, the course will review of the major theories related to economic development, revolution, and democratic transition. The second half of this course will compare the political systems of selected countries in the region.
