EDEC 538 - Children’s Thinking and STEM Experiences Unit(s): 3 Students will learn the cognitive development of children from birth through middle childhood. They will study major theories and research to gain a deep understanding of the following topics: brain development and the impact of early experiences, educational supports for optimal cognitive development, the role of culture and family
in cognitive development, applications for math and science learning, and assessment methods and approaches.
Prerequisite(s): Graduate student in MA-ECE or permission of instructor. Typically Offered Spring Even Years May Be Repeated No Teaching Mode: Online Grading: Graded
