POLS 483 - Politics of Wealth and Poverty Unit(s): 4 Course focuses upon conditions and causes of poverty; wealth and income inequality in the U.S.; and the variety of economic, social, governmental, and political responses that have occurred in recent decades. Of particular concern are the role of the government’s income redistribution and social programs, and the function of values, political interest groups, and social science findings in shaping these policies.
