ANTH 502 - Theoretical Approaches to Heritage and Identity

Heritage professionals come from a wide array of backgrounds that draw on a long history of theoretical, political, and social thought. This course cultivates an understanding of the intellectual origins and evolution of such ideas through their current incarnations. Students also engage with broader interdisciplinary frameworks, incorporating landscape studies, non-Western concepts of social and cultural identity, and social justice trends in heritage research.

Prerequisite(s): Class open to Cultural Heritage and Resources Management graduate students only
