ARTH 466 - Contemporary Art

A course exploring international developments in current art, with a focus on work made from 1980 and to the present. Movements and practices such as Postmodernism, Installation, Performance, Body and Identity Art, Photography, and Digital and New Media will be discussed. We will aim to understand Contemporary Art’s intersections with both the shifting definitions of art itself, and the complex issues that shape our diverse, global, and rapidly changing world.
