ASTR 305 - Frontiers in Astronomy Unit(s): 3 Lecture: 3 hours A survey of recent breakthroughs in astronomy and how they are made: the discovery of planets orbiting other stars; the explosive deaths of stars creating neutron stars and black holes; and the origin and fate of the Universe, including the search to understand dark matter and dark energy.
Prerequisite(s): ASTR 100 or ASTR 150, and completion of GE Golden Four (A1, A2, A3, B4) with a C- or better and completion of B1, B2 and at least 45 units. GE Category: Upper Division B Typically Offered Fall & Spring Teaching Mode: Face-to-Face Grading: Student Option
